Wake Up Call

Hooray for drinking tap water, walking outside alone (even at night!), and running without anyone staring or whistling.

Needless to say, the amount of exercise I got in Quito was minimal (there was a bit of jump roping, occasional sprinting down the street between telephone poles, and some crunches, but essentially nothing). Well, unless you count chasing after bad kids. But anyway, I'm paying for it now. Whatever they say about conditioning at high altitudes so that you'll be in super shape, I don't believe it.

Sunday: medium run, practice with Bowdoin College's team
Monday: long run, although I had to walk the last 1/2 mile
Tuesday: Boot in Portland. My cuts were not good.
Wednesday: rest
Thursday: same long run as Tuesday, went much better, had more energy afterwards
Friday: sprinting - I don't know the distances but I did 1/4 of my street 10 times
Today: medium run

quality

track workout today, with Chimpo, Brett, and Mackey.

felt real good during the workout, especially the 100s (I like running short distances)

200: 33, 35, 35, 35
100: 14, 15, 15, 15
200: 33, 36, 36, 36
100: 15, 15, 15, 15.5
200: 36, 36
100: 15, 15, 15.5, 15, 15hi, 14lo

would like to see the 200 times improve some, but I think part of that's a factor of them being the longer distance.

otherwise, got in a lift last monday, thursday, and again on monday this week. Did agilities on Friday, and had practice on saturday and sunday. Saturday was rough with no subs, and I managed to roll my ankle during the short time I was at disc till dawn, but it's felt fine all day today. Sunday was b-team practice, lots of handling.

I lost my reality

but I found it again later. It was just missing for a bit, specifically during the track workout.

AAANnnnnnyway, here's my times. A pretty tough, but pretty good workout. I liked how consistent I was.

200s: 32, 33, 33, 32
100s: 14, 15, 15, 15,

200s: 34, 33, 35, 34
100s: 15, 15, 15, 14

200s: 33, 33
100s: 15, 15, 15, 15, 15, 14

mmm....sprints

did trackworkout yesterday.

200: 33, 34, 34, 35
300: 58, 61
200: 35, 37, 37, 37
100: 15, 14, 14, 16, 15, 14

felt pretty good about the 100s at the end, although that was about the only time I actually felt like I was running fast, the 200s were pretty ugly.

Other than that, got my lifts in over the last couple weeks, been sick some, that's sucked.

Run, run, run...

as fast as you can.
You can't catch me...unless you ran with me today.
Not a great set. I felt like my body was betraying me all day today. Here are the times:
200: 33, 34, 34, 33
300: 57, 61
200: 37, 37, 37, 37
100: 15, 16, 15, 15, 16, 15
I booted after the second set of 200's, because I just didn't feel right. I felt a lot better afterwards (the last set of 100's felt pretty good), and my early runs felt good, but I just wasn't quite 100% today.

Side note: I pulled a hammie in an IM B-Ball game tonight as well. Somedays, I guess you just don't have it.

Anyway, I'm hoping to improve on these times next week, in our last running session before Spring Break. Also, I hope this pulled hammie isn't bad, and I can do our lift Thursday, and the plyo workout on Friday.

make money

I constantly see this add when I first sign onto blog. it says "Make Money" in bold letters. Though the message was tailored for the non-ultimate crowd, I couldn't help but think that it's a little bit of siegs talking to me. Money has been banked.

Here's the times. It took me some mental effort to push through this set. I feel like if I don't push myself, I can lull into a slower pace than I actually can run. I felt good after the workout though. Sprinting is exciting.

200s: 33, 33, 33, 33
300s: 55, 57
200s; 35, 35, 36, 34
100s: 16, 15, 15, 14, 15, 15, 15

I ran an extra 100 cause nick brown was booting when the rest of the group was running our first. Note, he sucked it up and finished the set anyway. Hard.

It buuuurrnsss usssss!!!

Track workout today felt really good, but uptown, Dave, and I did it outside, so our times were definitley slower. I was surprised that my leg (which mackey tells me is an upper quadricep problem, not a hip-flexor one) didn't hurt at all until I tried accelerating on the last 100s. I think running these will help me recover a lot.

200s: 31, 33, 33, 34,
300s: 55, 61, 59
200s: 36, 37, 37, 36
100s: 16, 17, 15, 15

hooah elbows. I still haven't heard of a successful elbow-joust yet. I think Crewton has been avoiding me when he walks between classes. Who will draw first blood?

Most recent track workout

Times:

200's: 31 34 35 36
300's: 57 60 61
200's: 36 37 39(+1 tackle of crewton) 36
100's: 15 15 15 15

Good runs: I loved the 100's instead of the 400's we usually run. They were tough, but I won each of 'em, if only by a couple of steps. I've decided I'm a much better short distance than middle distance runner. I feel like 10-15 sec. short sprints apply to ultimate a lot more than a tough 80 second 400.

Bad runs: Crewton was hurt, so he was calling out starts and gave us a serious fakeout on one of our 200's. So I tackled him. He deserved it.

Only takes 8 square feet

Eureka, I found it...the easiest way to work out when you have no space and can't go outside. Jump rope! Now I have no excuse for not exercising, so get on my case and guilt trip me if you need to.

it's cold out

yeah, so no turf tournament today, so got in a lift instead this morning. Got in another one on Wednesday afternoon, and did throwing on Thursday afternoon, and agilities friday.

Vegas was fun, definitely felt like I started playing better over the course of the weekend.
